Machine Embroidery 101

There are so many designs and fabrics to use - over the course of three sessions we will discuss and explore how to transfer designs from the computer to your machine, the best stabilizer to use depending on the embroidery design and the style of fabric that you're using, and review the best websites that offer a variety of designs. During session 1 we will download a design from the computer and stitch a tea towel. Session 2 includes an In-the-Hoop zipper pouch made from woven material, and Session 3 covers stitching an applique on a stretchy knit baby onesie. All designs, stabilizers, and fabrics are included in the class.

Required supplies:

Embroidery machine and hoops (minimum stitch size 4"x4")*
Flash drive/usb - no larger than 16GB
Scissors - fabric and paper
Threads - Class 1 bring your favorite color. We will discuss thread options for classes 2 & 3 during the first session.
Laptop computer - optional but recommended

*Floor model embroidery machines are available for use
